In-game Chat box display fades away to fast.

Is there anyway to prolong the in game chat box display for lasting more then 3/4 of a second?
Some of us actually prefer Text chat only still. Intuitive mostly silent gameplay is my thing.
The timing is very punishing.

Yes i know that, but its very easy to miss messages.

And if it lasted longer we'd have a post saying "In-game Chat box display stays on too long". You can tap enter to check it at any time, most people don't want messages cluttering the screen.
It also goes with the style of having to be in "hearing" range to see the message as if it's spoken. Spoken words don't just hang around.
You can always make a suggestion to the Devs for an option to keep messages visible longer as an accessibly issue.

Ah didnt realize it had a range on it then, not really meant for an actual chat box

semi off topic -
same with the unlocked items status updates.
wooshes by too fast to comprehend what you've just unlocked.
it's maybe set to 1 or .5 sec needs about 2-3 sec for ui reading and a toggle to enable/disable the display if you don't want the updates.

I believe so, haven't tested it myself but it's what I've read. Either way, drop a suggestion in the suggestion forums and make sure to mention accessibility (it'll get more attention), especially for those who can't use a voice chat.
