Killed Eikthyr, cannot complete the quest because I already put the head on the hook

I've killed Eikthyr twice on one map and started another. Right off the start I've added my extra head on the hook on the new map before killing Eikthyr.

Now I've killed it, and it still shows me his mission on the map and I don't think that I can move to the Elder mission yet.

Is there a fix?

The icon for the boss will stay on the map anyway. You can still move onto the next boss, you just need to find where it is.

There are no quests or missions in this game.

you can remove the icon from the map like any other
if you have the antlers to continue you are fine

As others have already stated the icon remains after you killed him. You can right click the icon on the map to remove it.

There are boss stones in and for each biomes. You need to visit black forest and find one of boss stones then it'll tell you where elder is. Then visit swamp to find boss stone after elder is defeated.
