fire makes them angry , so not build a torch near of them
Thanks for the fast response!
False. One one-star boar, a stack of food, a butcher's knife and twenty minutes was enough to turn our zero-star boar operation into a one-star. Given the resulting offspring I think the one-star piggies were something like 20% or 30% chance.
Interresting.
I have build normal fence on "dirty" ground and they are now eating since i have removed the fireplace near them but they do not breed.
Very strange.
what i meant: the animals shouldn't float in the air (in old versions of spawners you use 1x2m planc and put all your animals on it. (ideally you rise it ~8m above the ground)
i use this setup (no mod version): https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2642211838
as you can see by the number of boars below...it's working fine for me.
Also great boar farm there :-)
cuz every time mobs come from the forests nearby...boars\wolves go nuts. and once the fence is broken they spread all over the place.

so it's better to build a breeder over a pit, so they couldn't escape.
So now i only have one stars.
