Difficulty and biomes!
Are all biomes of the same type the same difficulty? Say you find a Black forest on the outer edge of the map, is that the same difficulty as a Black forest near the spawn? If it is the same, then that is nice! I ended up visiting the Draugr and slimes and they killed me.. lol But that is the biome specific (I know it's not the Black forest) difficulty and not because it was far away from the spawn, right? So if I find a Meadows far far away it would be the same as living in Meadows near spawn?

yes and no, the farther out you explore you really only find more 1 and 2 star mobs. however you do find much better villages filled with Draugr in some of the Meadows biomes ... good times raiding those poor souls.

its 99% the same. Like kraft said.
(and for now, hopefully this will change)

TMK it is really just that the mobs adjust based on your skill levels and the types of mobs and bosses that you have killed. The game increases mob types, relative strength, and raids based on your progression.

I’m confident that those Draugr camps don’t spawn until you’ve at least been in a swamp and killed some of them.

Thanks for the replies! I like that it is not increasing in difficulty the farther you go, since I find it extremely frustrating to die in games. But I entered Draugr area and got one hit :hatchetTLD: after a slime blobbed on me. I did not like that, had to make a second ship and sail all the way back, then sneak to the grave and get my stuff back, lol So if I sail far far away I wanna make sure I can survive in the Dark Forest or Meadow areas! :goblin:

@Bluelight First thing I do when I land on a shore far far away is make a portal back to home (just in case)

Does the monsters not attack the portal? Also I have died several times now after sailing really far, when entering biomes I think is safe, and then I discover that I'm close to Plains biome and straight up die.. lol

I'm pretty sure I've encountered a Draugr village before having been into the swamp. Not entirely sure. I'm very sure I was killed by an archer with at least one star, because I was pissed off for a while.

changing the enemy mob difficulty depending on how far away from the center they are is a really cool idea though

Honestly I think that would be a bad idea.

The further away you get from center the less likely you are to see friendly biomes.
Far North and Ashlands tend to be surrounded by mostly plains and mistlands.

I can't imagine how difficult those biomes will be when they get populated. Mistlands is kind of a safe harbor at the moment but once it gets filled with giant spiders and such I can't imagine it will be much fun. Finding a black forest around those parts is a real blessing honestly.
