Avoiding raids
Hi, I would like to know if there is any way to completely avoid raids? I read that you need to have a campfire, bed and workbench... if I wont have one of these then I wont be raided?

It's three objects in close proximity to the player. You could have 3 beds and get raided even with no campfire or workbench. I can't recall the list of objects off hand though.

The only way to avoid being raided, for now, is setting up your base in the middle of the ocean or at least near it

Fight bosses and hang trophies in another world...take the boss drop items for advancement (like the swamp key) to your 'peaceful' world. By doing this, as I understand it, you'll only get necks and boars 'invading' which is like free food delivery rather than an invasion.

To completely (mostly) avoid them, put your home base on a different map from where you kill the bosses and mount their trophies. You'll only get raided by boars and necks at your home base. Logging in and out can be a hassle, but it does effectively solve the ore problem.

I'm doing this on my second playthrough to see if I like it better. It means I can spread out my base as I please without digging a moat or raising walls. My campsite on my resource/boss server got hit by greydwarves, but my main base has only seen necks and boars. When they come for your overnight camp, you can just run away and if they smash it, it's no big loss. You can also camp up a tree or on top of a rock. I wouldn't test that with trolls though.

I don't recommend skipping the bed entirely because night time is boring and dark.

My main base is on an island large enough to build a good sized base and farm, but small enough to cover with spawn preventing objects. I get raid notices but nothing can spawn in, so no actual raid on that base. (never had a drake raid warning, so I don't know if it applies to fliers as well).

Alternative for a single world (if you don't mind being a coward) just get out of your base when a raid starts. You don't have to fight, just get the attention of the mobs and range attack or simply run away until the raid ends. Depending on where you are in-game and what level the mobs that spawn it can be annoying to deadly, but drawing the mobs away you can at least keep them from destroying the base.

Make a wolf spawner that drops wolves outside your base. Problem solved. Except for drake raids.

But fr, you can make a base in the mountains. Raids don't happen in mountains.

Get the mod and set raids to off.

Build a big enough base to completely ignore them and just do whatever inside till the raid ends.

I dont know why , if you can stone wall your base can resist anything well ( dont do terrain walls , your fps gonna cry after that , i learned late in my main base :( , hate these youtubers recommendng it without advise )

Guys, most of you didn't answer to my question xD This yt vid explains almost everything. Proper answer is that in order to have a possibility to be raided you need 3 things from the list: beds, crafting stations, portal, ward, any campfire. If you will be 18 foundations away from 3 items then you will completely avoid raid. Other solution is to build in ashlands on frozen north biom.

On an earlier run (I'm on my fourth now), I built a small "sleeping" cabin a short run from my base which had no fire, or bed while I built the base. I destroyed my workbench each time before leaving. It basically worked, but seemed more work to avoid a raid than it was worth. Now I just run outside and lure them away from my base and fight them in the open. If I get low on health, I run away to heal and then return until the raid finishes. I would like to have wards in the future to make a raid-proof base so I can have a nice build on the map with a fort base for fighting raids.

wall around base (made from rock/ground) solves the problem with raids, only drakes can cause dmg then because they can fly, but this is completely different topic
