So Did They Fix the Stamina Nerf? Or Not Really?
See title. Is the game worth playing again?

It's funny how OP only responded to this post and no one else.
maybe becasue it looks like everyone else is actually trying to give some useful info instead of the non answer reply that looked snarky they got from licidess.

The patch notes are not always very clear about HOW the changes the devs made in a patch will effect gameplay. The original H&H notes only said that the food and stamina system had been changed. Which did nothing to really inform people of exactly how those changes effected gameplay.

The OP wanted opinions of how the current game compared to the pre H&H in terms of gameplay.

as Ta'Lon once said: An answer is a reply, but a reply is not always an answer.

I like it. Tasty mead increses stamina regen by 100%, lowers health regen by 50%. Game has everything you need. Just try not to fight much in the rain.

yes, they patched the weapon drain right away. With a new mix of foods, it is very close to what it was before, noting that being rested, warm, and dry s more important than it was before. Its a little harder, but only just.

And many of the skills decrease stamina usage for the their respective weapon type. So if you restart from scratch it feels really difficult, stamina management is hard, enemies are hard. It feels more challenging than the first play through. As you level though it returns to the same level of difficulty it was before.

Once you skills are 35+, you have turnip soup, sausages and dear stew you will be fine through the swamps and even the mountains.

I have only played H&H, I don't know how it was before. I have no problems with stamina.

I never leave the base if not Well Rested, eat 2 of 3 foods for the type of activities I plan on doing and avoid getting cold or wet if I can help it. If it happens, I get safe, plop down a fire and 20 seconds later I am dry and well rested again. I don't sprint everywhere or spam attacks. Every mob or boss has an easy to see pattern they do and every attack can be blocked as you regain stamina. I use an Atgeir for crowd control, the second attack mode works wonders. Yes I do die, and I can see why each and every time. Usually impatience or going places beyond my abilities.

IMO, stamina is more important than health. Don't leave home without it, lol

It is a bit frustrating at the very beginning but not so big an issue as you move forward. I find watching which weapons I use also is good. I found the Spear excellent early on.

Sorry, I want to give you an award, but I've been giving out a lot of awards lately on Valheim forums, that I am actually low on points. I started at around 40,000 and now it's under 20,000. So here's a high five instead. ♥

Game was always worth playing, it's just taking some people longer than others to get accustomed to some of the changes. I'm guessing the OP is one of the players who couldn't handle it so they rage quit and are now returning with snarky remarks and judgments. Game is good, food is good, stamina is manageable if you put forth even a little effort. So, yeah, adapt or whine, I guess it's a choice.

They tweaked weapon drain, as has been mentioned. But if the stamina changes are what kept you from enjoying the game and you're not adapting, then I'm going to guess that you're still not gonna like it.

Game is fine, stamina is fine, but it's not the same as it was and if you don't learn how stamina, food, and combat work together then you probably won't get very far.
