When you've had enough of Greydwarf's...
Tired of them bothering you for literally anything you do? Just put them in a timeout.

Honestly, this helps so much early game, if anybody hasn't tried this out, go for it. It turns nightly tree chopping sessions into a peaceful time.

Has anybody else tried this?

So, more won't spawn if there already are some near the player?

Yeah it stops excess respawning from occuring, great way to avoid frustration over time and it works pretty much anywhere. They will despawn eventually, but whatever. Atleast they aren't doing the evade/attack/push tactics all day long with these little traps in place. Want to torture/kill them off? Place fire near them.

had a good result with my roundhouse-sharpstake setup
they grind themselves up while moving around my house

otherwise im doing the usual "greydwarf-extinction-cry-like-a-maniac-and-throw-my-weapons-at-them" thing

I normally only trap trolls and golems... I can always use more resin so I don't mind killing the riff-raff.

I'm curious, do they have exact spawning locations that you're enclosing preemptively, or did you just quickly entrap them as they were attacking?

I'm going to guess the latter since some buildings block spawns, but...

LOL, had a thread talking about how the excessive spawning of these things is a real motivations killer on replays.

I think the worst part is the drunken sailor AI that makes them stumble around so you can't bow them down and just have to wait until the decide to attack.

First few nights it makes sense but once you have armor it's just annoying. The goblins have a similar anti bow AI that gets annoying as well.
