Limited best light resource ?
Well i tested this jack-o-turnip and i figure out that shine more than the sconce
I compare with sconce because other fire/light ( hanging fire , heart and fireplace ) resources make smoke and burn yours fps in high numbers
Are the blue fire standing torch good ?

Yellow mushrooms, surtling cores, poison and frost meads among other things work for me.

the turnip seems like the brightest small light. I suspect it is a limited time only item, so place them while you can.
blue torch is blue. it isn't terribly bright. green torch is green, also not all that bright.
crystal walls or even open air windows let in a lot of light in the daytime and more than you would think at night.
moder tears are fairly bright but won't sit on item stands.

What about the lighting effect when you combine all three standing iron torches next to each other to get a 'white' light? It takes more resources, but I'd be curious if the 'white' light actually feels brighter then the other lighting options.

I believe dragon tears emit a bright blue light since it is a boss drop. The only drawback is that you can't mount it.
So you firstly need to make sure there is a workbench in range of the place that you want to drop it so that it does not despawn. And then you ideally want to make sure that the place that you drop it is somewhere where you are unlikely to pick it back up.

A self-made lantern frame or some kind of wide pit would help in making their placement look decorative.

Don't forget the Circlet! I know it's not a resource but.. y'know. It's a great light.

Personally think the blue torches are now the best light source. The blue is easier on the eyes, looks nice, and it's a crap ton easier to collect dwarf eyes as fuel than resin or guck.

seeing as how every dwarf drops both eyes and resin, how is it easier? Guck is a limited resource, and I can't see ever making a green torch, but I have maybe 20 wall sconce and resin still piles up like mad. The blue is pretty -- if they add blue wall hanger, I will be all over that.

I placed a green lantern under the floor of a horizontal item stand. If U get the height just right, the flame just crests the top of the egg without the lantern seen, looks quite cool and gives off light in the colour of the flame. U have to remove egg to refill lantern.
