blue torch is blue. it isn't terribly bright. green torch is green, also not all that bright.
crystal walls or even open air windows let in a lot of light in the daytime and more than you would think at night.
moder tears are fairly bright but won't sit on item stands.
So you firstly need to make sure there is a workbench in range of the place that you want to drop it so that it does not despawn. And then you ideally want to make sure that the place that you drop it is somewhere where you are unlikely to pick it back up.
A self-made lantern frame or some kind of wide pit would help in making their placement look decorative.
seeing as how every dwarf drops both eyes and resin, how is it easier? Guck is a limited resource, and I can't see ever making a green torch, but I have maybe 20 wall sconce and resin still piles up like mad. The blue is pretty -- if they add blue wall hanger, I will be all over that.
