Day night cycle
Please , please please , edit the day - night cycle, it is ridiculously fast , 21 minutes is too short for the day, needs to be 45 mins at least, and then adjust the night accordingly. I know not everyone will agree with this, but personally I feel the day is far far too short, by the time you do anything its night time again.......particularly when building, . Please change it . Also, the nasty bug still exists, whereby when you die, the grave marker is there, but the equipment isn't, lost everything 2 days ago, and it was all reasonable equipment.....very irritating indeed !!

I agree the day cycle duration should be increased, I was thinking it needed to increase in duration by about 25%, and then I'd leave night cycle duration where it is.

The day/night cycle is fine and you can build, explore, and do whatever else you want at night. I have no idea why people are asking about this in multiple threads.

The grave marker disappearing is certainly something you should report on the bug forum.

♥♥♥♥ no, it's perfect the way it is now. I don't know what you are doing that takes so long, but just hop in a bed to pass the time, or wait for server settings.

Yea day should be 2/3rds of you day. Daytime just goes to fast, by the time you've made a trip of any size it is turning night, it is just to fast.

Don't use this mod, it does adjust the time ok, but the shadow flickering is like a strobe light, and seriously does your head in, makes the game unplayable..

I installed the Valheim+ mod, only for the day/night cycle time change, and works a treat, night time last for about 30 seconds real time, the rest is always daytime..

Ok. But it's now viking lore that Odin commanded ore shall not be harvested during daylight hours.

Not gonna use any mods at all whilst the game is in early access, nor exploits, and to Fox....Sorry but when building bases etc. it is difficult to see at times, and the day is just far too short, it needs to be doubled at least.......As I said I dont expect everyone to agree. just my opinion, and the reason this subject has been brought up so much Macdellan, is because I am not alone in this , more people it would seem agree with it, than do not.

I highly doubt that the majority of the 3 million plus players want any adjustment to the day/night cycle. It's fine. They have a way to sleep through the night built in to the game for people who do not want to explore or work at night. You can also use standing torches, or fires, and later other options to provide light at night. It's not nearly issue the minority are complaining about. It's really not. There are other reasons as well but I don't want to say exactly why because it'll ruin a surprise or two.

Learn to work within the game's systems. They've had far more thought put into them than you think. I thought there were a few things that needed to be changed until I played a bit more and started to really understand why things were done in certain ways. There's a reason for just about everything they've done including the day/night cycle being set up the way it is.

If you aren't exploring at night you're also missing out on a lot of the game's ambiance. First time I found the swamp was at night, and I'm glad it was. Trudging through the Black Forest at night or in the rain adds so much to the game. They nailed the sounds and the feel of walking around in the fog, at night, in the rain, in a storm. If you stay in all night, or wander around only during the day then you're missing out. There are also some things that are easier to find at night, but if you're not Viking enough to venture out when it's dark you'll never fully experience the game.

You seem to think I have an issue with night time, in fact I do not. you are missing my point and the spirit of the subject. I said that the night needs also to be adjusted in line with the length of the day, idealy the same length or slightly shorter than the day period, so I dont have any problems with the night at all, in fact I like to wander at night and beat up any nasties that crawl out from under their rocks. But anyhow, thank you for your input, even if you disagree, without disagreement, we never learn differing opinions do we !!

Absolute bollocks. I have used it since it was released and have none of what you refer to. Sounds like your rig has a problem.

I too would like an extended day time, but I won't use a mod, I prefer to play the game as the devs intended most of the time (elder scrolls series being an exception for instance).
