core wood?

is it really rare?, I've got bronze ax, in dark woods cuttin down pines left 7 right and have not seen a single piece yet...?

You sure you are chopping Pines and not Fir? I get about as much core wood as I do normal wood, on a run.

Core wood is in the PINES only in the dark forest. Another tip, I found a nifty way of getting FINEWOOD with nothing but a standard axe. FINEWOOD is in the Birch trees that are TOO HARD. To get the finewood out of them, cut down a normal tree and use your body to position and roll the log into the harder birches. If you keep pushing logs into the hard birches they will eventually fell and break up. I have a finewood bow and other furniture (for +comfort) and I haven't even taken the first boss.
