How to deal with the difficulty spike?
So, me and my friends doing quite well in the early game, we kill first boss and second boss quite easy. set up 2 functional camp in meadow and swamp. Now we proceed to the 3rd boss, bomemass. the boss is literally immune to our attack.
furthermore, the 3rd boss is spawn in a small swarm surround by plain which is scary even for me in my iron suit. the enemy juz hit too hard. but we manage to kill some of the local and get the black iron scrap. what should we use it first? weapon or armor?
also, can give some advice on the boss?

You have to pay attention to weapon damage types. Everything in the swamp aside from ghost are weak or take normal damage from Bashing. Bone mass is weak to Bashing. He literally takes more damage from a wooden club than iron slashing or piercing weapons. You need to use maces against him. And as every adventure into the swamp, lots of poison resist, which you have to take before you get poisoned and last 10 minutes.

I think its better to use blunt weapons on the animals in the swamp. And make sure you have potions. Im currently re-attempting to kill the bone mass so i guess we will see if it works

Yes blunt force solves all your problems, he is not a hard boss but its a marathon boss fight. Prepare yourself with lots of potions.

the boss isn't tanky.... you have to upgrade your weapons.

try to get an Elite-Draugr-Trophy and then buy Ymir-Flesh from the vendor.... this will unlock the Ironhammer receip... a 2H-Hammer. upgrade it to maximum and bonemass will be a cakewalk, especially his adds since they die to the AOE of the hammer

not a marathon at all.... killed him severall times (solo and with severall people to test how strong he gets) .... every single time the fight wasn't longer than 5 minutes, which means 1 single potion was enough.

- blunt weapons (2h blunt against spawns can be great but guess you wont need it since you play in duo)
- medium heal potions
- poison potion
- vital health food
- you can basically ignore your endurance, make sure to have an area to fight where you dont have to swim, jump, or draw more adds from everywhere ^
- theres 1 boss attack that should be blocked, after that you can hit about 9 times with 1 handed weapons, this is always the situation where you deal damage on boss. after that you walk away, regenerate endurance, take a potion if needed and wait for him to do his other 2 skills.

Bonemass is probably the second easiest boss. All you need to kill the guy is a bronze shield, and iron mace, a poison resist mead and maybe 1 medium health restore.

He takes bonkers high damage from maces and his poison does a whopping 2 damage a tick after poison resist mead. Just go in rested and face roll him. If you are still struggling go kill a serpent/farm some draugers/grow some turnips and go in with serpent stew/sausage/turnip soup food buffs.

Also if you haven't already learn to parry well. It opens monsters up for critical hits. Also before the fight build a shed with a fire going in it to deal with the wet debuff.

I was super disappointed with Bonemass as going in prepared he was a cakewalk.

5 minutes under constant poison debuff appears longer than 2-3 minutes against elder.

actually i never get poisoned once.... you can read his animations, they clearly tell you when he is about to spawn the cloud around him. i simply walk some meters backwards then.
and even if i got hit by poison, it doesn't do any real damage since the food outheals it (sausages, turnip stew, fish).
And 5 minutes was the longest fight... you can even kill him faster if using stamina mead.

My blunt skill is a bit low yet for my liking, have been using the axe as a weapon until now.
How is he to frost damage? I have frost arrows

Go hit a rock for 10 minutes. Your blunt skill will be fine. You don't HAVE to hit enemies to level weapons skills.

Actually a system I hope they don't change. I mean after all historically most weapon use was learned though practice after all, the combat side of things was rather short.
