multiple ways of doing it, just dump outside of workbench range, or aoe delete all items with console command

I just throw all the stuff i don't want off the wall of my base into the ocean.

I would prefer a method to recycle manufactured items. Items that were dropped could also give something back, for example metals, woods or other raw materials.

Yes, this is pretty much my only quarrel with the game, I would like to break back down items Im no longer using.

Just drop stuff outside a Workbench radius or use a mod to permanently delete things. Breaking things down would be good though. I have weapons and armour in chests I'll never use again, unless it's just for a corpse run.

I walk around back of my base and out on a small peninsuar throw into the water a few days later all gone. Or just chuck em where you get them away from base boundary.
I know we need a recycler :P

There's a "delete ground drops" command in the F5 menu, but you have to activate cheats to use it. It's a pity it isn't available as part of normal play. I just downloaded a mod that will delete things from inventory, but I would assume it isn't going to affect junk on the ground.

Throw them in the sea outside of your base perimeter and forget about them. I don't know what the big deal is. They will despawn after a few days.

Yes guys you can drop stuff in other areas and wait for it to despawn... slash that, hope that it despawns... (because it can cause fps drops).

The best solution currently is to use the Console Commands, hopefully they add a toggle or something in the future, and make trash despawn a lot quicker.

Anyway here's how to remove trash quickly;

Gather all trash and throw them into a pile, then press F5 to bring up the Console Command. Then type in "imacheater", hit Enter. Then bring the CC back up and type in "removedrops", then hit Enter. You are done, all things will go POOF so your inventory and fps will thank you.

I agree with the need for 'burn pit' object we can build; opens like a chest, place unwanted items inside, close, items are removed from the world.

And I also agree some 'crafted' items should be able to be broken down into some amount of the materials needed to craft them.

Make sure you post these ideas to the suggestion section.

Lol...I was just thinking this yesterday. Iv been using an old copper pit, at my DF base. And, a rock over hang by the ocean, for my main base.
A burn pit, or a bonfire would be a nice addition for a working mechanic for this.
