Solo - am i ready to take on the first boss?

im not the best in the game, and i tend to nearly die with 2-3 skeletons present

so i was wondering if or when im ready to take on the first boss - being not that good of a player

if you get tower shield, he can't harm you. Shield + anything and you defeat him. Wait behind shield and when he attacks, bash him back. Everything else will just speed it up.

Should be satisfactory. If you know how to roll then you should be good enough with all that ammo. Eat your best food for health and kick its ass.

Yes. you should have no problem if you have any archery skill. you could go along the coast and pick up some flint, and kill some birds for feathers and make some flint arrows. which would make it even easier. but as it is, your better off then when I did it.

The first boss is fairly easy, you should be fine with that gear. Worst case scenario you die and try again like so many others :-)

All you need is a shield and weapon. Blocking blocks all damages the boss can do.
Got it first time with spear & shield. Didn't lose one hp.

Forget rolling and bow like people are suggesting here.
It's good for other bosses, but the 1st one all you need is a shield.
Just block when he attacks, and bash when he don't.
That's it.
Don't waste your time rolling and shooting arrows with the stag.

I beat the first boss with just a spear and round shield.

I used the beginner bow. First boss is easy. 2nd boss, waaaaayyyyy different story.

Personally I built a hut with arrow slits right next to the altar. I surrounded the hut with a stake palisade and the same for the altar, leaving a small gap. Then I put a load of campfires around and summoned him.

Easy, peasy. He kept getting burned on the fires, headbutting the palisade and I just took pot shots.

Fire Arrows, run (dont sprint) to gain stamina.... Fire Arrows... :) the fight is OMG What the "ell type of fun but for a first boss, its nice and balanced, makes you go OH ♥♥♥♥ but is still the entry level boss. I suck in high stress fights because I start panic mashing keys. you're beyond where I was when I dropped it so Yes, you're ready :)

The bosses hit you for less than random enemies in "next" biomes. So yes you are ready.

First boss was pretty easy with a bow and arrow.
Second boss however was a nightmare for a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ player like myself :(
