Temp portals are named for their function
"Wood gather"
"stone gather"
"tower salvage"
There must be other people who use more of a subway map style.
I use one for each boss
1 for a good silver mountian
1 for a good swamp/iron area
then I have 1 with no connection called "home". So I can build a portal on the fly and name it home and have a quick path home
On top of that as long as you didnt mine ore when exploring you can demolish your boat you traveled with and bring the materials back through the portal and rebuild it on the other side and or reverse the option and bring a boat with you!
