Indeed. Need to expand the building options with stone floors, walls, fireplaces, etc.
I am planning a raised stilt house at some point, going to make faux radiant floor heating.
Firepits under floor, then "ducts in the floor to vent the smoke out the sides. Just need to not be so high that the area of influence from the fire is out of range.

The trick is placing core wood poles and then placing the fire on it. I'm not sure its really intended that way, but it works.
I'm already thinking about writing another little guide for outposts like that one.
