Stone buildings randomly breaking
Anyone know why stone walls and stuff just randomly start breaking? We're thinking of making a huge castle but its not working out because of random walls breaking

Most likely insufficient support for structure. When in build and hovering over a building component, the color shows its "stress". Too much stress and will break. Need support.

I dont think thats the problem, my stone walls which are directly on the ground are just randomly breaking, im thinking it might be the server host because the server im on is very laggy at times.

are they under water, or unroofed?

Its unroofed. Do buildings randomly break if they are unroofed? If so that may be the problem, its kinda annoying since we're trying to make it very big and we wont have the roof done for a while.

I don't think so, specially with stone.

Are the stone walls collapsing blue when highlighted with the hammer? In case they are not connected to the ground. Also, if a stone piece snaps on a wood piece (wood supporting stone), it will crumble automatically.

Wood will take damage in the rain or if low enough in the water, down to 50%, will still need to be hit to be destroyed.

Stone does not take damage from rain.

Double check the ground, it may appear to be on the ground but my bet would be if you look the ground drops away from the part you are placing. What you are describing is failure due to insufficient support. Stone isnt very forgiving with nothing underneath it. I think at most I have gone two pieces. Stone will also become very unstable after getting a certain height. We tried using the ironbound corewood supports and still had issues getting our stone higher than three floors.

Yeah i think it was blue when i was checking it, I dont know why its not registering with the ground when half the wall is underground. Thanks anyways!

Ohhh noes, we were thinking of making it into a castle lmao. I guess itll just have to be a mini one. The building in this game is still better than ark so Ill be happy if it still looks nice. Thanks for the help!

It's the games' current (pretty broken) building & physics system. I explained it in detail in my review here: https://steamcommunity.com/id/Coeco/recommended/892970

Hopefully the devs will fix it at some point.
