Sure should be fixed if it gets stuck but not really a big deal.
You can push a boat, even the largest one, with your body. That will sort out most instances of being stuck on something. Also, there is the pick, with which you can dig out any really serious beaching. But you can also just build a workbench, beat the life out of your boat, pick up the mats that drop from it, then rebuild it. In the water.
The issue lies in the user, not the boat
Right click.
Select repair.
Left click boat to repair it.
Middle click to dismantle it.
Get 100% of the materials back and rebuild it again on the water.
You can push the boat back out though if it gets stuck on something, it's however annoying how frequently you may need to do that.
