Seen similar behavior when mobs spawn inside abandoned stone towers that don't have steps to the doorway. They'll stand in the doorway swinging but won't step out.
its gets too repeditive spoils game play somewhat and why bother doing anything if one gets attacked all the time if thats not enough then the Forest is Moving happens.
Full on attacks.
Everytime a boss is killed it increases.
I suppose if some players find the fun in this game is meant to be just hack and slash defend and attack all the time so be it but the game could use a difficulty selection option imho
I prefer to have free time to enjoy the inviroment and explore build some cool lodges for fun.
Here's to hoping they'll be used in more recipes down the line.
Upgrades, like the Copper Dagger takes some Greydwarf eyes.
The Portals and other stuff.

This. 100% this. Just maybe 5 mins MINIMUM between spawns. Progressing is just annoying at this rate. I can't even build in the meadows because it's too close to the Black Forest border. I don't mind the enemies but stagger them at least. Please.
But honestly, islands. Islands are super peaceful.
