Can Greydwarfs just Stop?

Five minutes of NOT getting harassed the moment I try to exist.
Five minutes, where I can actually use my tools to try and progress, and not have to eliminate them again and again.

I agree they are undending and annoying, and even if you make trenches they start throwing stones.
The only catharsis I can offer is going to the swamps that borders a black forest, and luring grey dwarf swarms into it.
Then watch as they become poisoned, chopped and chomped all at once.

I love em. Not speaking for everyone but they make things interesting. I was fighting a troll and I got it down to the last sliver when hordes of these mothers jumped into the frey with a very angry troll wielding a log. 3 Greys, 1 Brute and 1 Shaman.

It was eventually too much from every direction and I eventually caught a log to the side of the head while dealing with some dwarves but the challenge was fun.

Because right now... it's ALLLLLL Greydwarfs.

I think they are in the black forest so maybe go away from there. I'm a newb though so I'm not sure why you are getting dwarfed so hard. They only bother me when I go in the black forest.

This is exactly the case, go find meadows, not much spawns there

Greydwarves are scared of fire. Build campfires and torches and the like and they will be rendered impotent.

I recommend standing Torches around your base. That seems to work for my Meadows base anyway and it isn't far from the Black Forest.

In the Black Forest... ya, more torches or campfires

Graydwarves start spawning everywhere and at night after a point in progression. Build walls, gates, and spikes to defend

In theory you can make a similar structure using a hoe if you use the raise terrain function using the "build" menu.
