Dedicated server starts then closes?

Well did for me.
Go to (C:\Users\"username"\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds) The "Dedicated.db" file is corrupt. What i did to get it to work was delete or move the "Dedicated.db" file. There is a "Dedicated.db.backup" file in there. Copy that file, remove the .backup from the end of it and start your server up. Hope that helps Let us know how you go if this fixes your issue

I am struggling with the same. It seems the save file is the problem (or the patch has problem with the save). If I delete the Data Base File (C:\Users\"username"\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds) it will start the game in the same world (my character even started in last location), but the world will be reset. So I have no problem starting a new game, but the save from before the patch wont start. Kinda sucks since I had 60hrs in it with 4 other players.

I tried loading the save through the client aswell and it just closed to desktop.

That sucks mate :( I managed to get my old save last update but not looking good for this one.

Just checked mine again and im getting exactly the same issue as you. same line 35 and so on

Sometimes it hangs on some duplicates but most of the time it just close down after "Done generation locations" like in the picture.

Anyony had luck with above solution on a Linux based server? I have a worldname.db.old with a timestamp that suggest it is a backup as described by [UC] Jack Severity. Changing it's name as suggested doesnt seem to change anything, it still seems the server can't open the map.

Nice find!

First try renaming the backup file on my dedicated server resulted in a super bizarre world (boss runestones where I spawned were in a 20m hole and the world looked strange and empty...).

I then tried using the game client to load the (renamed) backup and it worked fine. I then copied it to the server and it started without issues (looks fine ingame aswell).

I dont know why it didnt work renaming the backup on the dedicated server at first try (I tried it twice with same result), Maybe something else had broken when messing around earlier. Luckily the files I had copied to my client earlier were working. I will definetly backup manually before updating the dedicated server in the future.
