Along with a few other updates I'd like to see like snap to grid planting and a more minecraft take on seeds, Where when you harvest you get the crop, 1 return seed and and RNG chance for additional seeds.
Tho I guess the seed thing is take it or leave it cause once you get a crop rotation going it's not terrible just tedious. Tho I guess it could always have been worse, leaving the carrots too long could have turned them into nothing but seeds. So at least that part is opt in.
None of them are necessary in large amounts, but do make life much easier, so you have to work for them.
Mushrooms, berries, thistle, fine wood. Same reason while core wood trees don't drop enough seeds to be sustainable.
Where did you get this information?
I always find it strange when people say that xy will not come because it has xy intention behind it as if you were working on the game oo.
Back to topic, yes I also hope they make this and other things plantable. Or increase the spawn rate, because you need a lot thistles compared to other things in recipes and if you do not rush the game and play a long time to grind for mushrooms, thistles and blueberries (even if you marked spots on the map) gets super annoying.
I mean, farming itself is annoying, but I'd rather do that than visit the same places a thousand times to replenish my supplies.
BINGO
Why meadows? If you are in the lategame(where all this stuff gets a hassle) just look for a plain-biome, slap your portal there and cut down a forest of birches.
No annoying dwarves to bug you, as the green dwarves drop by super rarely.
I have now 3 boxes full in the shortest time, which I will not get empty in life.
Quality calls in for bigger efforts, brother
And about the meat for the pie, once you take the bone off and trim all the excess fat, the lean meat isn't actually that much, hence why you need 2 full legs :P trust me I have a viking Phd in bbq
what about mobs? for example skeletons in black forest do not respawn or spawn per se and are fixed to certain locations. are there other mobs like that?
The problem is the padding of the game in this regard. Sure it respawns, but we have to regularly go on extremely lengthy trawls through the Black Forest just for a few thistle to make a few things, to then have to do it again days later.
To a lesser extent, the same with Mushrooms.
There is effort, gameplay and management in maintaining a farm. Once we have the tools to do it (such as an advanced Cultivator) I dont see why not.
