the biggest source of achivement in this game is finding the thing you want/need after long search and getting it back home safely.
Removing that part by teleporting will remove a good chunk of content ingame.
IMO the portals should not even be a thing in game which i hope will become a server setting eventually since it will help encourage people to spread out and build more houses/camps etc whilst also giving more purpose to the exploration part.
Heck I feel tha the boats are too safe and the more metals it carry the more likely it will be attacked by serpents or even the krakens.
I'm not teleporting my ore or anything I was just telling that other person they could.
I do think it's silly that you can't...it wouldn't break my game. I have been playing for hours just enjoying exploring and learning, and building. I haven't even gone to the swamp yet. By the time I get far from my home having teleport for ore wouldn't break my experience at all I would have already spent 100s of hours in the game.
Inventory gets transfered in between the worlds, meaning you can load yourself with ore on another world and get back to your main one
It's so super easy I really don't get you guys...
it really depends on your playstyle. When I portal, i'm not exploring anything because I already explored it.
The game really isn't designed to explore the enitre map, at least in the state its in, if it was ore would be much more rare, besides a lot of the fun is exploring the unknown. If they added another 10 biomes then yeah lol, otherwise you exploring much of the samething, except scenry randomly generated.
However, its fine the way it is with the ores not tele'ing.
Disagreed. This is one of my favorite mechanics in the game. It promotes exploration and building outposts.
Material hoarding is the easiest part of the whole game, to be honest, but some of you can't see the forest because of the trees
This keeps the Sailing portion for crossing seas, keeps portals for large distance covering and forces you to make FOBs, keeps carts useful (actually improves their use) and lets you traverse on foot faster in known areas or where you've cleared paths through forests and stuff.
Hell, make the road system give a boost to horse/cart pulling speed and you got yourself some nice feature there. Expand your road network like the Romans and conquer the land.
Stop being so non hardcore my dudes!
You realize you can literally just bring all your crafting stations THROUGH the portal, make the gear and take it back right? It takes 1 in game day to make 3 full sets of gear if you have the ore pre mined.
Setup a portal to your base.
Setup 15-20 smelters on site.
Bring charcoal over load up the smelters.
Load ore into smelters.
Setup a forge and it's upgrades.
Build a bed for each person.
Sleep through the night.
Make/upgrade the stuff.
Tear it all down.
Go back through portal.
Takes like an hour tops.
Not quite... you can't physically carry workbenches or crafting stations in your inventory. The materials, yes of course... you can Portal with those, even Nails - apart from Metal for those workstations/upgrades that require it.
