Bouncing up and down in water taking damage? Is this normal?

How close it is to the shore, it might be that waves are going up and down that much that it hits the ground. If it is happening while sailing then I have no idea, we have noticed that ships takes random damage sometimes while sailing even when there is nothing below or in front of us.

yeah water is deep enough it shouldnt be hitting but ill check

I think its trapped in the loop from when it drops from being crafted. It takes damage no matter what

Can you move it or does it bounce while you're trying to sail with it

i had this problem too. Everytime I "parked" the karve it bobs up and down with the waves then every ~20 seconds it makes a crash sound and takes 10 damage. Tried this at multiple depths with the same results. Only way to get it to stop was to slightly beach it.

Maybe try to launch the game again or if you're playing on server make the server restart, or have you tried this solution yet?

this is happening to me too. Longboats, Carves and rafts, I've tried all the boats I have unlocked and they all bounce and take 10 damage, can't leave a repair area for more than 2 minutes without them sinking, any fix yet?

Havent found one. They take constant damage of 10 while on it and no damge while off but bounce around like its taking damage

Issue is it does it to me even while sailing

Doesn’t happen in a river not for me anyway, build a new one if it happens when sailing must be bugged from when you built it

It happens everywhere. Ive built 3 now and the same thing as soon as i climb aboard it takes random damage. WHen im not on it, it shoots up and smashs into the water

I build mine so they instantly beach and push them into water when ready
Have never had issues with the game breaking boat outside of troll throwing boulder when i used the small waterways

Yeah I've tried that as well, it always seems to be beaching even in deep water
