Smelter Problem

I have four smelters back to back on a second floor. One of them has 20/20 coal, but wont take any items to smelt. I wasted 20 silver on the thing before I noticed it wasn't firing off. I tried to destroy it and build another, but I can't. Any suggestions?

Also I am able to build destroy other things in the area so the work bench is close enough.

To start with, did you leave some room at both sides?

You need to fill it with coal from one side (right) and with ores from the other (left, when facing the part the bars come from). If there's not enough room, it's quite tricky to get to that small area that triggers the option to fill it.

2nd Question, have you tried to hit that smelter with a club / mace to see of it gets damage?
If you can't, but others do take damage you may have a bugged one.

As for the destroying part, have you tried to destroy the other ones to see if you get access to it afterwards?

And finally, 20 silver? A smelter can only contain 10 ores of any kind. So it's either bugged for certain or are you using any mods?

So I have plenty of room to load all four. I built this a few weeks ago and its worked like a charm until recently. Load it up, and then they all spit out the bars through a hole in the floor.

I am getting the prompt to load ore/coal. It says it is full of coal, and 0/10 for ore. When I go to put the ore in, it leaves my inventory, but the game doesn't register its in the smelter. I have tried hitting it! The others around it take damage, the one in question does not.

It seems like this is a bugged smelter, any ideas how I can get rid of it?

Destroy the floor under it and see if it falls ?
