Plains crop distance

Is the safe planting distance for barley and flax the same as for carrots and turnips? I haven't built my proper garden box yet to find out, but it seems like they need more room then the old 1 meter distance.

I plant carrots and turnips a lot closer than 1m. But, yes, the barley and flax need more like 1m.

I think it's the same spacing yes, but since the distance looks like taken from center of the items, cereals appears to be closer from each other.

However flax looks like it can be planted even closer than barley ; do some testing - after you safely collect some backup reserve of course - but you can plant many seeds in a small surface (no need to have a 100m wide crop field :p ).

All crops need 1m of room, but it's not from their edges but from their center. This means stuff like barley can be planted with the visuals touching.
