Dedicated Server not working after 0.147.3
Hey,

So i've been hosting a Dedicated server for the last couple of weeks without any issues at all.
I've been using the Dedicated Server tool provided by the developer found under tools and always kept the server updated alongside the clients.
Today i noticed that update 0.147.3 rolled out. So i updated my client & the server and booted up the game to see that everything went well.
I got to the server list, found my server, saw that the update was 0.147.3 exactly like the client, but when players try to connect it says "Loading" on the bottom right, then maybe 5 seconds later they get a message saying "Disconnected".
If they try to join through IP:PORT they get the exact same error.

I've portforwarded 2456 - 2458, reinstalled both client & server, tripple checked the .bat file, disabled windows firewall, checked logs & all looks good?
Has anyone got any recommendations for me to try?
As told before, the server has been running flawlessly for weeks without issues and no hardware nor software changes has been made to either server-pc nor client-pc.

Thanks in advance,
KingCold

Is your "- public" argument set to 0 or 1 ? Since the new update of this morning, the public argument need to be set to 1. If it's set to 0, server will only be LAN

dont think thats true. 0 just means its not listed in the server list and can only be reached by "join ip". Also this way you dont have the steam stuff causing problems. at least that's how i understand the patch notes.

i changed the commandline and set -public 0 and my friend could connect with join ip to the server i host on my pc. (i could connect as well).

no test update before released it !! , pathetic , how a 8kb update can f...ed a game ???
not letting this one die, I want my fix
I'm having this problem aswell, though i did manage to find a workaround for myself.

Playing the game on one PC, dedicated server running on the other. When i try to join from the server list or join ip with the external ip address, it starts connecting and then just disconnects.

However, if i use join ip and use the internal ip (192.168.x.x) to connect, i can get in.

My server was not working and I wasn't able to conect to it this morning when my public was set to 0. Set it to 1 and now my server is working perfectly fine. From what I've understand, public 0 is now for LAN server only.

do you have it set to private? cause that would explain it
From what I can see, when i did my update through steamcmd it did not update my server to 0.147.3 So I am thinking there is something wrong with the dedicated server updating correctly.
My friends can enter the dedicated server but i can't i tried to check the port forwarding settings but it's all right and i keep getting disconnected without entering the password
Same problem. No password, just "Connecting" and then "Disconnected".

Thanks for this workaround, it will do for now!
same problem, i usually connect through the steam server list i have saved. i get the prompt for the password, it launches the game, select my character, and it disconnects. i never get the second prompt for the password that i normally get.
My server is doing the exact same thing after the update. No one can join and it doesn't even give them the option to enter the password. Please fix this!

I can confirm this happening as well, friends can't connect and I have added the "-pubic 1" to .bat file for the dedicated server and they still can't connect.
Ok everyone I found the fix. You have to actually go into steam and go to valheim dedicated server and update the game. For some reason it didn't auto update. This fixed it for me and things are back to normal.
Same issue here. Running my server in Azure through Linux GSM on Ubuntu. Worked perfectly and now doesn't. Already got the "public 1" flag specified.
