dont think thats true. 0 just means its not listed in the server list and can only be reached by "join ip". Also this way you dont have the steam stuff causing problems. at least that's how i understand the patch notes.
i changed the commandline and set -public 0 and my friend could connect with join ip to the server i host on my pc. (i could connect as well).
Playing the game on one PC, dedicated server running on the other. When i try to join from the server list or join ip with the external ip address, it starts connecting and then just disconnects.
However, if i use join ip and use the internal ip (192.168.x.x) to connect, i can get in.
Thanks for this workaround, it will do for now!
I can confirm this happening as well, friends can't connect and I have added the "-pubic 1" to .bat file for the dedicated server and they still can't connect.
