Ill give you a little tip: Try building it on corewood. I hear it can be done.

don't mind me as I throw my lighthouse plans in the garbage.

Very BS that you can't.

You can place a campfire on stone, y'all. Just not a bonfire. So you can have a really wimpy lighthouse that goes out in the rain.

When you say 'build it on corewood' do you mean a log post?

Couldn't you just raise the ground up in one spot only and build the light house around it?

terrain heightening has a limit and i doubt it would even reach half the size of a lighthouse

Thats what I did. You can only raise a certain amount though, I think 8 meters. That is a runt of a lighthouse to be sure

Ends up being really small as others have said. And I happen to want to build mine on a large rock sitting in the middle of my harbor. Since you can only place it on dirt I can't even do that.

Wait, they can only go on dirt? Dang, I completely assumed that once I got to stone building my fire options would be greatly expanded. That's some bummer news. It also doesn't really make sense, realistically. I get not being able to put fires on wood, but stone should be A-okay.

It's only the Bonfire that won't go on stone for some reason.

without mods you can raisae ground approximately 8 meters up (and each hoeing is approximately 0.5m)

you need mods to raise it hiigh

Oh, that's not so bad then. Not great, but not as bad as I thought.

Core wood doesn't work for bonfires currently.
I assumed we could build it on stone but no such luck.
Had to settle for a hearth as lighting.
