System Crash while Sailing

130+ days in; computer randomly crashed while sailing (very good gaming pc) for the first time ever.

My issue is; I respawned at my base...without my boat. My boat is presumably 45+ minutes away in the middle of the Ocean somewhere....I hope!

This brings up 2 things; crashing in the ocean biome needs to reset your longship to the closest shoreline to your spawnpoint

and

you need to have a map-ping for your boats. As long as crashing does not place you back in the world where you left, presumably ON your boat; we need to be able to find our wayward craft.

are u running in Vulkan mode? if so, launch the game without it
only time ive had crashes was when using vulkan

No not vulkan, and its my first crash at well over 70+ hours into the game. Just want to know where my Longship is, if it despawned, or if its in the middle of the ocean somewhere!

Im assuming the game thinks youve logged out at sea; and pops you back to your spawnpoint?

i assume a crash just rolls you back to the progress of your previous save point, so maybe it was before you crafted your boat? unless the sea travel path you took is still visible on the map, then your boat is probably out there and i'd just fly towards it with console commands

Ive had the boat for a week. Everything I set up before I sailed away was still there and ready, just popped me back to spawn. No idea where ship is

that sucks ;/ glad to hear most stuff is still there at least.
if u want u can hit f5 type: imacheater
then type: debugmode
now if u press B u enter free build mode that lets u pop back the lost boat without the need of materials

(relog or repeat the above commands to turn it all off again)

Well good news is I was finally able to recover her after over 2 hours of painstaking search in a back-up dingy; but the point remains that perhaps our boats should have permanent map indicators
