Use sutling trophy , it glow brighter than mushroom .
Moder tear also work but you can't put it on item stand .

Yes that works as well but i like mushrooms.

Only problem I found with mushrooms is that the draw distance is much lower than that of a torch. If you move to far away from a mushroom it disappears even with all settings on max.

I tossed a few on the ground for a bit but never thought of mounting them. As a decoration it's sweet. Not sure it's incredibly functional as a light source but I am impressed with the idea.

Greylings/dwarfs destroy standing torches, so they're not all that useful at scaring them away. You've more luck at keeping them at bay by putting down workbenches as they stop spawns within their radius.
