I wouldn't attempt searching for silver without the wishbone. I had two mountains that had no silver before I found some. It was pretty awful.
I went with the frost arrows.
I think spirit damage works against bosses though I haven't tried yet.
Going to make some silver arrows to test against Modar.
If your randomly mining for silver I would recommend trying under stone golem spawn sites. Found a few veins under where they spawn.
@asanger ... great tip re. stone golem spawn sites - will try finding one once I finish fermenting. Cheers.
Silver is mostly under ground, and in some mountain biomes it's even non existent.
I've occasionally found it peaking through the ground in steep places near golem spawns.
Good luck!
the frostner itself doesn't have high blunt
so I guess it won't be anything great, it will be just about the same as bronze mace?
Definitely don't bring a sword, dagger, spear or axe. Or fire arrows. he can out-heal / regenerate those easily.
Frostner is the best thing you could have at that point, good luck finding silver.
Think you can do "oh-kay" with an up'd iron mace, too.
Stamina pots are great for boss fights (Tasty Mead)
With a poison resist pot going, you could even eat 1 of his coulds which give you so much time to make a serious dent.
Tip from friend: Frost arrows
I mean, you could do well with Frostner, considering you could probably do well with any blunt weapon and it's a later one, I don't think it would be better than an iron mace.
I think there's that misconception about frost arrows that's making you think you're stacking damage to which he's weak, when in fact, you'd be more than halving the damage to which he's weak (Frostner's upgrade doesn't increase it's blunt dmg, so it's still 35, where upgraded iron mace is 73), in order to add damage to which he's neutral.
@Orakio - "I think there's that misconception about frost arrows that's making you think you're stacking damage to which he's weak, when in fact, you'd be more than halving the damage to which he's weak (Frostner's upgrade doesn't increase it's blunt dmg, so it's still 35, where upgraded iron mace is 73), in order to add damage to which he's neutral." -- I hear what you're saying, so will be sure a pack my Iron Mace as well as Frostner (I still wanna try it him). Cheers
