A lot of the people won't suggest it, because it could take away some of the adventure, leading some player's to quit faster. But if you're on the verge of quitting because of your save corruption issue, might as well just do something that will be sure to avoid you dropping the title.
PS, I also suggest you skip as much bronze as possible. On my current playthru I got forge, bronze axe, fermenter, cultivator, cauldron, and that's all. Skip the armor, skip the other weapons, skip workbench and forge upgrades. Save yourself some time.
Instead of teleporting, try hopping back and forth between different map seeds.
Whatever you carry goes with you to another map seed.
Log out and in to another seed and leave the metal there. Then move to where you want the metal in your home map seed... then go get your metal and smelt it ;)
Valheim provides a multiverse... use it to your advantage ;)
Do not complain about or attempt to impose your easy mode mods on people in multiplayer though.
Set your own rules. Download the mod for bronze, then when you pick up where you lost your save, disable the mod. Something like that
As stated I have no intention on playing with randoms if I play with any one it would be with friends who of course agree on what mod combinations we want to use.
That sounds like a good idea honstly
I think if you are a major builder and want to use debug mode just to build a cool house or castle then that's fine. Its not game breaking.
I levelled an entire forest to build mine and the land now looks ugly, so no issue with building free mode as it keeps the trees ;)
Items though, i think metal limitations on teleport adds to the game.
Solo, do what you want, but if you start removing the difficulty, you will just burn out very quickly.
I personally don't mind the limitations. In fact, it led me to begin mining on one server/game and crafting on another. It takes MUCH less time to switch to the other game than it would to travel back to the portal.
World Hopping.
If world hopping was not available, then the restriction would be fine. But the devs have made it clear they're OK with world hopping, even in regards to bypassing the portal restriction. Which makes the restriction.... dumb and pointless. Why have the restriction if you're going to allow a bypass that just takes a couple minutes longer to achieve the same result?
And for the people who think world hopping is cheating, once again, the devs have made it clear it's OK to use that to bypass the portal restriction. It's not cheating. It's not exploiting.
And for the people who think using the console is the same as world hopping, once again, it's not. You can't use the console on someone's server, but you can world hop. The fact you need this to be explained to you really doesn't make you look good.
I was trying to find a way to sail close to The Elders spawn point, got caught in a storm at night, and next thing i knew i was close enough to a plains biome to draw deathsquitos. 3 times i sailed all the way back to try and claim my corpse, and 3 times the damn deathsquitos were still there waiting for me.
Did you just assume you could just throw in a random rant because there was the word "teleport" in the title? Man people can be edgy
I personally will never touch or research commands/mods up until I clear all the game has to offer at this point. Portals are completely irrelevant, as is other players.
Simply using all the tools provided for making mining more efficient is enough to make it beyond bearable. Be smarter than the rest of them whiners and optimize your actions.
Portals are to move between the distant bases and outposts. They're not there to remove the necessity for those bases/outposts.
(Also a server setting so when you port in, your toon is naken, so no pulling resources from another world shard would be good too)
