I LOVE the size of the map, the bigger the better! I like to explore and am so disappointed when I begin to learn a map. Like with many other EA survival games, there is no end game here, the grind IS the game (and that is OK) so rushing here and there is not appealing to me. I do not use portals and honestly believe that they only serve to hasten the inevitable burn out we experience with this type of game.
What do you mean portals can only link two? I make multiple bases, and have each base go to a portal hub. From the portal hub I can go to any base, boss, merchant, or other points of interest. Make sure you're naming them something unique.
Don't settle on one location too long. Make mining bases in strategic spots and use portals to transfer the non metal goods between. Craft where you smelt, smelt near where you mine.
Id like to see larger landmasses more sense to the breakdown of the biomes large oceans and more defined riverways
How can you get stuck and then sail back still? How can you get lost with the map precisely showing you how to get back? Your story doesn't make much sense.
I'm so tired of people calling any and every activity in the game as grind, there's probably nothing else that makes me more angry at this point.
Uh... useless? Do you know you can build as many portals as you want everywhere?
You just set a portal on your base and you take components for the new portal with you or find the at the location, and you can get to your base and back at any time, anywhere?
Man, I'm losing all faith in humanity.
However, I still choose to do none of those things mentioned that would make ore trips easier and run ore from its source site to a seaport site, then to another seaport site with ore refiners then take the refined bars across the sea to another port site and cart them to my poorly chosen main base site. (running around with 2000+ load in a cart=pure exhilaration)
I'm currently at maxed out iron gear so we will see if i can keep that attitude for the next armor material.
Killed 7 Days to die for me when they reduced the mapsize down from 314 km² to arround 80 km²
Imagine you play the map for several weeks/months
The mapsize is really fine, maybe even too msall when all 9 Biomes need their place
Agreed that the deal with the merchant needs reworking, but bosses have multiple spawn locations. You don't have to go to the specific marker to spawn the boss. All biomes should be within reachable distance of your starting location as well. I haven't had any need to sail very far at all.
You can rename portals lol. I only keep 1 portal at my home base and rename it accordingly in order to teleport to specific locations around the map.
