Feature idea: treasure maps

While playing the game I was hit with an idea that there could be treasure maps scattered accross burial chambers, sunken crypts and other locations with chests. The maps could contain some hints, diagrams or directions to a treasure chest.

One possible variation which seems very nice to me is that a certain type of treasure map could contain some strange word and a portal symbol. If that word were to be used as a tag of a portal, a connection would be made to a remote location, which contains a portal and some other structures.

I like this idea. Treasure map exclusive consumables and other materials for crafting could add some more depth to the existing loot table and scaled to be of use throughout the game.

or even maybe adding more uses for the wishbone? Upgradeable on the work *bench*? Wishbone+X+Y mats = better wishbone? The map idea does sound sick tho, i like it.
