Ice cold for me, but then again it is winter here and my computer is REALLY well ventilated...

games running well at normal temperature for load. I havent gone past 50 with aio on cpu. GPU never goes past 60c on high end games.

I wouldnt worry about it. Not sure what people are saying. Poor cooling leads to dangerous temps. Hardware is meant to be hot.

Running 1440p ulltrawide

Don't know about the CPU but the GPU for me is about 65c average to 70c tops with max settings at 1440p

My 5700XT sits between 50 and 80. 80 is hot but it's not going to melt your card, you don't have anything to worry about if your case has good airflow. It runs hot on my G14 laptop as well, don't know what the temps are but it sounds like it's going to take off. Most people aren't having issues so I dont think you need to be concerned unless both of your PC's only have one fan or something.

No specific game makes a GPU hotter than another. If a GPU reaches max utilization and stays there long enough it will reach it's highest temp possible, regardless of what game you are playing. If you think your GPU is reaching dangerous temps the issue is either your case, GPU cooler or needs a repaste. If on a very high end card try capping the framerate to whatever you are comfortable with, which will cut down on heat significantly (because the GPU won't be at it's max utilization all the time).

well i have an rtx 2060 super and she has a laptop with a 1060 gtx. my case has 7 fans one on the cpu with water cooling and 2 on the card. the rest just help air flow. my concern is more her laptop. it runs the fan a bit strong when playing sea of theives on mid settings soo considering people on here say around 60c to 70 or 80 i have a feeling her laptop may get too hot considering somethings i have read about laptop overheating

lol tell that to Shadow of War - that game will make your GPU hit max utilization and STAY THERE.
(but yeah, I solved the problem by leaving the case open and blowing a house fan across it xD)

Then there are also REALLY poorly optimized games like Pretend (the Among Us clone) that some how manage to make i9 cores max out at 100% CPU usage.

i would recommend getting a fan setup and making those fans and heatsinks are clean. Laptops are pretty notorious for getting hot especially while gaming and not much else can be done besides giving it some airflow or doing a very intensive aftermarket upgrade

I am continuously blown away by people thinking that excessive temperatures can be the fault of a game; It means that your PC has bad airflow, bad coolers, bad thermal paste, cheap/bad single fan GPU or all of the above.
Your PC should be able to run at 100% without overheating or something is either faulty or badly designed.

I had (past tense) issues with this game. Very high thermals and junction temps around 85-90c. Added higher RPM fans and 0.40 cent washers to make sure the heat sink was flush with the chip.

My computer is about 7-8 years old and runs around 55 degrees playing this game for the GPU

Hey, not every game is going to force your GPU to hold at 100% for the entirety of a session - and a 1 GB installation like Valheim should NEVER do such a thing.

Also laptops really aren't as easy to cool as desktops, so if you're using a laptop that isn't specifically designed for hardcore gaming at high temperatures, you really ought to stick to games that require fewer resources.

bro its a low poly 1gb game

His point is that even if it were to force your CPU/GPU it shouldn’t be over heating and if it is over heating then there is something wrong with your setup.

You should be able to run at max for long periods of time without over heating.

its these kind of mixed results that make me weary since i was gonna gift it to her. who knows if it works well or if it heats up like hell. im just trying to go off other somewhat demanding games we have played. a whole day of sea of thieves and her laptop barely runs hot. however getting messages that some say 50c others say 80c makes my doubt a bit.
