Any plans for official first-person mode?

I'm new to the game and am trully enjoying it, i love to play games in first-person mode and this game is so immersive and atmospheric that i believe it really should have this option, would suit amazingly well with the game!

I know there are mods for this (and i'm using one) but it would be nice to have it be an official feature for those who like it what do you guys think? :D

I certainly hope so. My group of friends prefer simulation/immersive games and won't touch this till its added. Its a shame they left out a large portion of the community.

Not all of us are console converts. Immersion is destroyed when you see your character bouncing around like a Mario brother.

Why hope not if it's just optional?, i'm playing in first person using a mod and the immersion is amazing so is the mood and it's even easier to build since i can aim better (closer to minecraft building more or less i feel)

First person would go a long way in building modes. Kind of like how fallout 76 does it. I hate building down while looking at my character's head.

Can't hurt to have it. The Mount & Blade series is well known for being perfectly playable in both first and third person views since attack and interaction direction is based on where the player is facing, not where movement is directed, and Valheim is no different.

There is already an unofficial mod that does 1st person and it does it pretty well, proving that it can be done:

I'm fine with the third person and over the shoulder views, but scrolling into first person would be nice now and then in the game.

Then use the mod. I don't want devs to waste time on a feature I won't use.

You may not use it but it would increase sales, for an easily implemented feature, providing a larger budget for the company expanding its capabilities.

Yeah they could, but as it stands there is no 1st person mode in the game and I want to keep it that way.

How is that bad?

You don't know whether it would increase sales. Maybe it would have the opposite effect. Since the game sold incredibly well without 1st person camera, I'd say the devs would be wise to keep it as is.

Having the option there cant hurt. Don't want to play first person view simply don't choose to. Having the view that because you wont use so don't bother is extremely arrogant

Seems like it would be a nice option for people and probably not too resource intensive.
