Core Wood bugged?

I have normal wood, and I have a bronze axe to get fine wood from Birch/Oak. I've deforested an entire area of Black Forest and still not found a single piece of Core Wood. Is it bugged? Was Core Wood removed in favour of Fine Wood?

Pretty sure you need to find Pine trees for core wood. I just saw it drop in my own game not an hour ago, so it is in the game still.

Core wood is still in. Drops from Pine (and Fir??). If you're cutting those down and not getting any then it 100% sounds like a bug.

When you say Pine.... this is different to Fir?

Must have cut down at least 100, and not got a single piece. Cutting with Bronze Axe, but have cut with lvl 3 Flint Axe previously.

I normally find pine in black forest right on the coast next to a water source... river or ocean.

It looks like fir but a slightly different bark skin.

Pine have branches extremely high up, whereas Fir have them going all the way up. Should be easy to spot from a distance once you know what to look for.

Yes Pine Trees provide plenty of core wood, Pine Trees are found in the Dark Forest
