why cant i find tin ore?

Ive searched the black forest high and low, found plenty of copper, cant find any tin. ive played for 18 hour and have only found exactly 6 tin ores, as drops from barrels outside ruins. should i be looking for something particular? in a particular place within the forest?

You can find veins of tin in the Black Forest biome by water.

I'll add that they're shiny rocks on the ground. It might be your seed is just low on tin. I have the opposite problem. Lots of tin, not much copper.

ah yes, i found a few though not many deposit by a river running through the forest. now the only problem is that the banks of the river are too steep to stand on o i cant mine the tin. lol
