How is the controller support currently?
Since it says partial controller support of the store page, I was wondering how well it is implement. Is it possible to do everything in game with just a controller? Does it feel ok or is it kind of awkward with a controller? I prefer to play on the couch. Thanks.

Im playing on controller and there is full functionality however certain functions still require a mouse at hand. I.e. in order to drop things one needs to physically drag it out of your inventory which can only be done with mouse. At the time of writing this, I was looking for a discussion posting the full gamepad layout, so I may be incorrect.

I'm using a laptop and have been playing with an XBox controller, as far as I can tell the only things that you still need the mouse for are:

-Starting a new character with no previous one (started the game with a controller, couldn't select "new" at all without the mouse for some reason, seemed fine after that)
-Dropping items from inventory
-Transferring items between inventories (Tried to swap items between my inventory and a chest, hitting RB to get through the different tabs doesn't seem to take you to the chest tab at all so had to use my mouse for that)
-Rotating an item when building, for me it says to hold LT and use the right stick but that doesn't actually seem to do anything so I have to use my mousepad

Otherwise it feels pretty good, only thing that can get occasionally tedious is weapon/tool swapping, you have to use the left/right arrows to select the slot but also have to hit the up arrow (or I think pressing down on the right stick does this as well?) to actually equip the item so that can get awkward in the middle of a fight

Drop items works. Hold right trigger and press A
Split stacks is left trigger and press A
Transferring items works fine. Pickup the item from inventory with A button, then use R or L bumpers to move to chest. Push A again to drop in chest.

Rotating build structures works fine. Hold L trigger and rotate R thumbstick. Works.

Pretty bad on steam controller tbh. Building and fighting are both 100% built for KB and mouse. With all the stuttering it's extremely hard to aim the bow during boss fights.
Even hitting with the spear is way harder than it needs to be...

remapping controller buttons would be nice. right now the defaults work, but i'd really like to swap X A B and Y around.

Trying to edit them using the GUI fails as soon as you try and remap B.

i've found it to be pretty functional but not perfect. dropping items with a controller is clunky and if i want to cancel a shot with the bow it doesn't seem possible even tho i'd heard of ppl doing it with a mouse.

I play this game with a controller and mouse. I use a PS3 Move Navigation controller in my left hand (pictured below) and a 5 button mouse in the right. I have inventory mapped to the DPI switch, map to the forward side button, activate to the rear side button, and on the controller, left bumper is sprint, left trigger is jump, thumbstick button is sneak, X is to activate a power, O sits, and the dpad is mapped from top, left, right down, to 1, 2, 3, 4, or if the button is held down, it maps to 5, 6, 7, and 8. So I put weapons I need quick access too on 1-4, and tools I don't need quick access to (hammer, hoe, etc) to 5-8.

This setup works so well, I wish there was more support for controller + mouse on PC. I get all the comfort and intuitivity of a controller, and can manage the inventory much easier with the mouse.

Good to know! has anyone figured out how to.
1. Zoom camera in and out.
2. zoom minimap ( , and . ) on keyboard
3. Mark map location with empy lable
4. Holster your equiped weapon. So I can put away sword and shield on my back at same time. quickly recalling them when needed. Same functionality as "R" on keyboard.

Hello,
I have a problem with the controller.
The controls move by themselves, both in the menus and the character in the game. Any solution?

Using old xbox 360 controller. You can cancel a bow shot by dodging and equip/unequip weapon and shield by pressing down on r stick. Works for me anyway ymmv.

Shield/block button cancels a bow shot on mouse too.

After playing for about 50 hours or so with an Xbox One controller I have to say the use of a controller, in most situations, is good. The big issue I have with the controller is during combat. Trying to change around the active weapon or use something from the hot-bar is cumbersome. Implementing something like the "wheel" in Conan Exiles would be great. If you are not familiar with this, you hold left bumper down (could be any key obviously) and a wheel or dial pops up and you select what you want using the right joystick. You can continue running around avoiding the enemy while you make your selection. It basically puts the hot-bar (1-8 items) on speed dial. I really hope the Devs look into implementing some better controller support during the early access period. Overall the game is create.

How can I change the controller?

I play with either my xbox controller or steam controller and it's fine, some of the commands that need hold left trigger + B like doge-roll are a bit clunky and not very intuitive, but its totally playable and good experience.
