Spear Fishing?

I don’t have access to a fishing pole yet so I’ve tried spear fishing, but I can’t tell if I’m consistently missing or if it just isn’t a feature. I swear my spear is being thrown directly at them...

I’ve also tried using my bow, but that wasn’t successful either.

Are you able to do either/both of these? I’d love to catch fish :(

Are you talking about the harpoon? Isn't that just a weapon?

No the flint spear can be thrown using the middle mouse button. I assumed I could kill fish that way because it seems intuitive

You can either try to push them up onto land and pick them up, or find the trader and buy the fishing pole. Other methods will kill the fish and render them unusable.

I tried to hit one of them! A 0 damage pop up appears. I think you cant kill them by now.

I did catch some fish earlier... altho by accident as i knocked a log into a nearby river. Noticed some raw fish was floating about so im guessing I either hit it or knocked it up to the river side.
