If I use '1' for the seed.....
...do I get a more boring world ?

How does 1 affect it ?

How about '0' ? Or a negative ?

Thx

Its just an ID. The numbers and such dont mean anything

Well they do matter because it's a seed number so tied to an algy

Using less or more numbers doesn't really make generation 'weird' The game follows almost like a tile set that fits together. It's not like if you type in 42069 or 1 you'll suddenly have a world where trees float or 20 caves spawn together.

Also, unless there's a "dev mode" we can toggle to instantly see the entire map, we can't even confirm big differences between seeds until dozens of hours in. I get the feeling though that all maps are "similar-ish" and that there's no great variation on the theme. I doubt there's ever going to be a seed where most areas are desert or there are crypts every 10 feet. This is Minecraft.

There will appear a man, who asks you to choose between a red and blue pill.

The "Seed" is a number used to initialize the random number generator. Computers, by their nature, can't actually generate random numbers - they generate *seemingly* random ones. If you seed the RNG with the same value, you'll get the same "random" numbers again, thereby creating the same world.

The value of the seed itself doesn't affect the world or its complexity. It only determines which values the random number generator will churn out.
