Yeah durability mechanic are garbage 9 times out of 10. If at least it was something somewhat realistic like an axe needing some sharpening or a bow loosing its tension
It wouldn't be a problem, but instead you spend half your playtime farming ressources just to get some f'cking tools. It's garbage and I hope the devs will either remove it entirely, or keep the free repair mechanic.
"Realistic" - I don't know about you - but I can use a hammer for several years before needing a new one. Having to repair tools every half hour and dragging resources around your storage an inventory to do so is not realistic - its tedious and doesn't add anything to the game but a layer of extra work. It makes a little more sense in a pvp centric title like Ark, where resource balancing is more important - but it brings nothing worthwhile to the table in Valheim.
Mah Realism, when you can get killed by a mosquito faster then by a dragon. Mah Realism, when there is dragons. Mah realism when your metal pick breaks in a couple days use... what crappy quality. Mah realism being hungry every 3 minutes, mah realism not being able to sleep on a bed because there isn't a camp fire. I mean seriously these vikings or canadians cause they seem mighty afraid of the dark.
It's not a mosquito though. It's a Deathsquito. What do you expect it to do?? Besides, if a player is in the mountains without a Frost Resist potion, just relying on a campfire to stay alive, I'm sure a drake would kill them just as fast.
But to the topic of the thread, I absolutely appreciate the ability to repair tools without a resource cost, and hope it'll remain this way. I have no issues with needing to repair each item separately because it takes almost no time at all. If I had to wait--like cooking a bowl of soup--it would be annoying.
Keep the repair system as is!
