Do trees regrow?

Is this one of those games where I need to leave the stumps for trees to regrow or will they grow on their own. I read that you can plant them later on in the game just wondering if there's a reason to leave stumps.

So yeah, the ONLY way for tree's to grow, is by planting them, otherwise, the little tree's are as Hun said, there to punch, and tree stumps do nothing currently other then a couple more wood if chopped.
Eventually that could change since the game is EA, but basically only seeds can grow tree's, so don't have to clear up stumps unless you are wanting to make your place look nice...or have a lumberjack feel too it.

Planted trees grow within one or two days if they are healthy. When planted they are tiny saplings and the next day ( or 48h don't remember) they are fully grown 😁
If you plant a tree with the cultivator (bronze) pay attention what the baby tree says after being planted. They need enough space to grow. But the tree tells you if you look at it. If it's brown something is wrong.

So one thing to know, saplings need more room to grow then other seeds, BUT, when a tree does grow, its "room" expands a bit, so some saplings that were healthy near said grown sapling might suddenly become "need more room". Logs, rocks, and other solid objects also affect the health, and yes, tree logs, from cutting down a tree, actually counts lol

I even planted some seeds and watch them over ingame-days. And try to figure a difference between seeds on normal/cultivated soil. No difference in grow time i mean. Also up to max. 3 days and the raise up like a rocket :3

keep in mind you can only plant the trees in the biome theyre from. so no fir in meadows for instance

I suggest removing stumps anyway. Enough to them in an area causes more lag. Can get bad on servers.
