Wood stock pile, Rock stock pile?

So it costs 50 to make them annnnd you don't get to use them? I thought for sure the game would automatically pull from these piles within range of my base. What gives?

atm nothing more than alternate way to store wood/stone I personally only use them as decoration

You can break them with your hammer, and they will drop the stack.

It's for not wasting chest space. Break them apart when you want to get the resources back. Simple.

Middle mouse click the pile to disassemble it.

I liked the idea of this design, being able to physically put down your stacks of wood to use later and in the meantime they provide decorations.

I swear it would make sense to be able to leverage the stockpile remotely while being in the vicinity of your base
