I've seen it happen a few times. But also they seem to spawn way around the meadows randomly.
I've got 2 islands that are meadows with no runes at all and the boar and deer spawn like mad.
They don't spawn off of the runes at all .. they're just decorative pieces.
But I'm willing to agree.. my experience is the same, they seem to spawn fine without them also.
the question is do they respawn?
he did not mean the decorative piece runetones
I personally didn't try to pen it yet, I thought to do it other time :D seems like good idea
Exactly this!
Which is exactly like i said ... they spawn off of players not the stones themselves.
If it was from the stone itself they would have spawned prior to you getting within a certain range.
Again my 2 islands are meadows and have ZERO runestones on them. I get tons of boars and deers spawning constantly and they also spawn 1-2 stars as well.
At minimum I would agree that they are probably generalized spawn beacons. The center being the runestone and they probably have a large radius around them where animals can spawn with a higher possibility of being 1 or 2 star. But it requires the player to be near it for them to spawn in that radius.
Meaning I don't think you could create a boxed in area around one and leave across the world and come back an hour later and have a bunch of boars in it. It would still be empty from a distance until you hit that magic distance between you and it and then boom boars.
But they don't act like spawners in minecraft where they produce the said animal.
Either way it would be nice to have them act like a spawner though... but at the same time it would make it way too easy lol.
making instances that player might not see (and they are just bonus anyway) is simple waste
that's why spawning stuff checks if player is close and then spawns stuff not the reverse
or you mean that codewise runestones aren't spawning anything?
we are talking about situation where boar spawners are densily located around rune
code wise they are just boar spawners and that's it (ye, this game has minecraft spawners too, but most of them are invisible to players)
^ it's possible to test this theory ;D
make the spawners visible or list their coords and tp to them, i'm too lazy to try it tho seen them working and spawning boars, thus no point in testing
I figure that's what taming and breeding is for. Wolves are funny because they go completely out of control if you tame them and keep them in an area where lots of meat dropping things respawn.
