Vertical Construction limit too low (Debunked)

As I continually am pushing the limits of what I can build with Valheim's somewhat limited tools using NO MODS I wanted to address the complaint that you can't build high enough. I'm adding screenshots that prove everyone wrong. I built a single vertical wall, unsupported in any other direction that I managed to raise to 21.5 Rows at 2M per row using ONLY the Wood Iron Post.

This wall went through a massive Storm that swallowed my Base but it stood strong. The 21st row is where it starts to break. I imagine if I built a smaller "Tower" with 4, or better 6 sides (Hexagon) with internal bracing, I could go even higher.

The point is, it's not the Game's restrictions that are holding you back, it's YOUR lack of creativity and understanding of how construction works, cheers.

So I wasn't satisfied with my Round Tower failure and decided to build a Tower braced to the teeth. This is what I ended up with, a 42 Story monstrosity. I braced it to 2 natural Stone Pillars and 3 Pine Trees I planted. Even with a network of supports, I can't get any higher than the 42nd floor (plus 1 Stone layer). I feel like this is the absolute maximum height one can build, which is still impressive.

Now, you could easily go physically higher by starting the build on TOP of the highest Stone Pillar you can find, build up Stone Floors until they go Red and THEN start the Wood Iron construction, but I'll bet you won't get much higher than ~22 Stories (of Wood Iron) since there won't be anything to brace to at that height.

And the testing continues. Did you know you CAN actually build a Stone structure super high? I call this one the "I had 3+ hours burning a hole in my pocket and someone to prove wrong on the Internet". I will likely spend many more hours making into not just a crappy straight vertical Stone Tower at some point but for now it's just that.

I should point out that I could've gone a fair bit higher. The Stones had just starting turning light Yellow at the top of the Pillar. Also, had I used the Wood Iron Post/Beam to reinforce the outside as well as the inside, I'd bet I could've pushed it even higher.

@Mharr Oh I'm positive you're correct. And without the Wood Iron Post/Beam you literally can't build very high so they're kind of right.

Fleshed out the super ugly Stone Tower to at least look decent. Next project is to see how high I can build a Stone Tower with no supporting natural structure nearby, just straight up by itself using Wood Iron as bracing.

Not sure the steps you used to build you stone pillars, but would they have turned out straighter it you leveled the ground first? And, if stone pillars are a construction (Hammer) Action (I haven't unlocked Stone building materials yet), Would paying attention to the Hammer's surface orientation particle stream have helped?

Here's a couple shots of the in-progress Stone Tower concept with NO external supports. That is to say, I'm not using a giant natural Stone Pillar to brace against this time. I want to see how high I can push it with serious internal bracing.

Whoa, they get pretty big. I've only seen the little ones you see scattered around the Meadows.

Something that crossed my mind while finally taking the time to read through this thread today is that we are only on Biome 5 of 9, scheduled for development, which means, structural integrity could receive even bigger buffs (Materials) and reach even higher height in the future.

How do you define a story?
From my testing, max for Wood iron beam is 56m, with is 28 2m stories.

@Tekk, I'm referring to 1 Block of Stone, so yeah, it'd technically be 10 Stories since I'm using the 1x2 Blocks. Still though, normally Stone will make it ~14 Blocks vertically before failing. My build so far is still all Green.

Cool, love to see your results, currently building my new base, braced by a stone pillar, but i have stone extending quite far from it, so still need support from ground.

IIRC i'm about 40m up so far, but am having issues efficiently supporting stone from the ground (Eg. having stuff not fall apart, while not wasting a ton of iron on too many wood iron beams)
