Random Bans

I'm really salty about this. Its not even the person who owns the server. For some reason I keep getting disconnected when attempting to join a server and a "Banned" message. I haven't used any cheating software or mods. My game is up to date. I've reinstalled my game. Deleted characters and local games. There's no whitelist on the server. No bans. I'd refund if it was even an option at this point.

There's no functional anti-cheat watchdog mechanism of any description. If you were banned, it was manually by the server admin. Otherwise it's a bug. After all this is early access. I think the server owner banned you, though why they would deny that is anyone's guess.

I trust the server owner not to lie about this. My guess is that it's a bug. It's a shame because I was really enjoying the game up until this point.

My friend has to whitelist us on his dedicated server. Otherwise the server would tell us all we're banned. Try that.

Maybe you use a name that is offensive.. or you have a high ping to the server.

No whitelist, and according to the server the ban list is empty too.

Nope no offensive names and my ping was actually pretty low.

It's possible that the server is perceiving a whitelist that may not exist or the admin did something on accident. I'm no expert on running servers mind you, but I know that such things can happen.

he can check banned list, if he is admin then just press F5 and type "banned"
tell him to send you screenshot of result

(he has to be admin~~ otherwise it doesn't work)


also bans are on steam ID so changing characters doesn't bypass ban

yeh could be a mistake made by the server admin..

allways the same with server admins : if you not belong to his group or you kill his friends ... they ban you , becourse this i never play on a private server or a server with a admin in it !
All what they do is destroying the Game Moral !!

High ping network gamer the kick them auto i think so not a ban !
A server admin or what ever did this it's a shame and low if is this trough.

Maybe or friend use a MOD or a cheating prog on the background and this is a LIVE steam ID BAN for Valheim !! Is it like this so no excusses then !

So far I have tried the following;
Uninstall/Reinstall
Matched versions with server
Deleted all characters, saves and backups
Been banned/unbanned by admin
Admin has checked server lists (empty)
Been made an admin on server
Attempted to join by IP instead of server list (only end up getting disconnected)

I'm guessing I'll have to wait until this bug is seen by the dev team and fixed. So probably in a few months. That or start a new steam account.
