This is the best survival game ever... THANK YOU DEVS!

I cant believe how good this game game actually is..

It is the first survival game where it makes sense to eat, to build a fire, to sleep, to build a shelter, it all fits so damn good into the world and the mechanics do work... its a dream!

And the Basebuilding mechanics are simply fantastic, they are easy 2 learn and intuitive, you dont have to grind all day long to see results but at the same time, they are complex enough to be creative.. Its so fun to build your dream-home!

The love of detail in the world, it just feels alive! The wildlife and the fact, that you constantly get attacked and raided by monsters gives a perfect immersion that you are living in a crowded and dangerous world...At this point all early access survival titles failed in the past decade, all of them!

My journey started 2012 with dayz, i put like 2000 and more hours into this game and i probably played all survival games in the past decade. compared to this gem, they are all ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥...

I think this game has a bright Future.. More Bioms, more enemies, more stuff to craft/build and this will be probably the best survival game ever made...

Thank you devs for this piece of art! Thats why i love pc gaming...

It has some gamified elements, but yes, quite immersive, compelling, and fun to play on the whole, in my opinion.

It's an open world dungeon crawl exploration and base building adventure, not just a survival game.

If it isn't the best, I'd say it's at least within the top 96 percentile.

even though i love this game and am impressed by it, i have to disagree. survival games are best when they are pvp. surviving against NPCs will never give you the difficulty or adrenaline that fighting other players will.

Again, why is the expression of joy bad? How on earth does that imply a lack of self-respect? I think what really implies a lack of such is needing to tear somebody down over said joy. OH NO SOMEBODY IS TOO HAPPY. Let me FIX THAT PROBLEM.

7 days to die is probably considered better overall too after all the development it went trough, but i havent played too much of it.

these games in general just have way more content, which is why i said "could" become the best survival game. the combat does feel more satisfying overall in Valheim, but at the same time the hitboxes get so broken on uneven terrain i cant give credit for what it is right now

Honestly, my first reaction was that this was a back end troll post seeking to "prove" that the community only welcomes posts that are supportive of the game. Maybe I'm wrong, but the rhetoric sure seems over the top for a typical poster. If I'm wrong I apologize.

i have to disagree.. im really sick of PVP Games like RUst and dayz, where all people do is griefing and KOS.. im really happy that this game is on the PVE side..

Games like dayz had its peak, like i said, i have over 2000 hours in this game, but im kinda done with PVP games... i just want to build my character and stuff without having the constant fear to lose all my ♥♥♥♥.. maybe its because im getting old and the fact i dont have the time anymore to spend 1000 of hours in a game...

Subnautica is great too, thats right! but its overall to peacefull and im missing the fighting mechanics...

Scum is the better survival game, sadly the devs screwed the balance by ignoring solo PVE player.

Valheim had a good start (speak about the game itself, not the sales)
and besides so improvements that need to be done its a good game

the world of scum feels so gooddamn empty... i played it at the beginning and for me it was like all those generic pvp open world survival games... maybe it got better over the years, but i wont revisit it, for me it was no fun...

but in the end of the day its a matter of taste i guess...

That is exactly why this game is so popular: it is as enjoyable solo as with friends and pvp is an afterthought.

Many players are not interested about pvp and some survival games quickly become cespools for griefters at the point you loose all enjoyment from playing them.

Add the fact that the setting is pretty cool, it has great building mechanics, sailing is pretty great and combat decent and you have a recipe for success as the 5M sales shows.
