one of the risks of modding an early access game

Yeah updates tend to break mods. You new to gaming?
Tekk Mar 23, 2021 @ 3:59am
I generally refrain from depending on mods in EA games, it's usually a question of time before the mod dev gets tired of having to fix stuff with every update

Updates breaking mods and the inability to stop Steam from automatically installing updates ASAP are a frustrating combo indeed. Otherwise, you could wait for mods to update before updating the game, but nope, Steam won't allow that. Times like this, the best choice for mod users is finding something else to do until their mods get updated.

I am currently playing with 38 mods loaded. Any issue? No, those that dont work dont usually break the game, they just dont work.

To update? Im not even using a mod manager which makes it very fast. I only need to go to nexus mods, check my download date on tracked mods, and the updated date. Most will be updated in a day or so, some will be left on the way as unupdated.

Nothing special, nothing complicated or apocalyptic xD

PS: I don't like Valheim +, its like some total conversion mods from total warhammer etc, they make the game uber easy, break a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of mechanics to make it simpler, etc.

ps: just checked, awesome mods like Epic Loot are already updated, lol. Most not yet, ofc

38? Dang. I wouldn't even have assumed Valheim had 38 mods worth using.

On a side note, you do know that V+ gives your tons of options regarding what parts to use and not use, and what exact settings to apply to most everything, right? You can easily avoid the easy mode options if you want.

Yeh it also happened last time, the mod wasn't loading correctly, had to play the vanilla version for 8 hours whilst desperately trying not to fall asleep out of sheer boredom until the mod came back online.

Total War and any Bethesda game players:

Is normal for any game that is still updated.

Yes, as an almost obsessed by mods, I almost know by memory what mods like Epic Loot or Valheim plus adds, and im surprised when a new quality of life feature is solved by a mod I dont know yet about it. Want me to throw the copy paste? its all settings about balance and ignoring ingame mechanics.

It doesnt even cover what 6 of my 38 quality of life mods cover.

And its popular cause it was the first mod to remove the ore portals restrictions

"Modify stamina consumption and regeneration.
Modify stamina consumption when using tools and weaponry.
Modify food duration.
Disable food degradation over time (maintain full benefit for the whole duration).
Modify carry load.
Modify auto-pickup range.
Modify unarmed damage.
Modify base amount of unarmed damage that is multiplied by your unarmed skill level.
Modify each skill's experience gain separately by percent.
Remove screen shakes.
Tweak/disable death penalty.
Tweak Rested bonus duration per comfort level.
Disable the use of portals.
Modify the Guardian buff duration and cooldown"

etc etc etc. Only in the latest updates it has added some crafting and production quality of life tweaks.

btw, it seems to be updated already

Plus is updated just now. Is there a way to completely block steam updates for Valheim?

Just wait for official mod support honestly, i have no plans to mod unless its last resort, still waiting for them to tweak sensitivity minimum should be way slower, im already running at minimum

These I use, the stam consumption is cut by 50% and regen increased by 50%

Modify each skill's experience gain separately by percent.
Remove screen shakes.
Tweak/disable death penalty.

Modify the Guardian buff duration and cooldown

These I don't use.

Only in the latest updates it has added some crafting and production quality of life tweaks.

This is incorrect. Although there has been more added, it was mostly qol changes before.

why? Op has his "issue" already solved. The mod is updated, and all work required is to download a file, place it in a folder, and click yes to overwrite, lol.

I may have to do that....38 times, as im not using a mod manager XD but still, nothing objective makes us need to "just wait for official mod support". Maybe you, but not us.

Come on people sheathe your poking sticks, OP wasn't complaining or indicating any form of surprise, just letting Plus users know that there may be issues til its updated. It's the sort of thing people would come to the forum to check if having issues after a patch.
