You can add some effectiveness by building them on a slope going down and multiple rows, but the benefit is still limited and can be hard to setup in some cases.
Using a trench can remove the need for walls or spikes except for dealing with trolls, but can lead to some performance issues.
yeah ill just not use them sigh
looking for passive damage makers. For instance, like the cactus in minecraft.
Not so much looking to tend to my garden of spikes that would be located in the pit of death.
the first thing i did was dig a big moat around the base. nothing can get past. kinda op lol
Ugh.
Also yeah a troll walked up and destroyed all my spikes anyways, and my palisade, and a huge chunk of my wall, while I was busy dealing with the other troll on the other side of my house.
Cant imagine fighting 3+ trolls on solo. Can understand why people just cheese the AI/terrain rules, instead.
Lead them away from your buildings if that's a worry for you. They aren't there for your buildings. They're after you.
You can easily walk backwards and shoot them until they're dead if you're out in the open.
they got limited range, tho.
I agree with you on the placement restrictions 100%. I feel like i'd want to place them on the inside surface of the defensive walls, with the spikes clipping though to the exterior. in hopes that the wall could protect them.
should be rotatable in the x y z and less placement restrictions.. Myself i'd have it conform to the surface normals of the object, so that the spikes would always point outward from any surface.
On top of that! When the spikes deal damage, they also TAKE damage as a penalty.
go into godmode and walk into the spikes to observe how many hits you get and tell me that's not BS lol
And those spiked tops of the defensive walls do no damage.. that's why they sharp pro
I'll bet I'm older than you ;p
You're never too old to learn to kite!
