Any way to get flint in Black Forest?
So I'm on my first playthrough of Valheim and I've kinda messed up my base locations thinking that on the shore would provide a later advantage for boat travel.

Thing is I've noticed flint doesn't spawn in waters in the Black Forest, and it's grinding my enjoyement to dust every time I find myself going from base B to A and back just to get flint for some new stuff or things like workshop upgrades I forgot, currently after logging back in I forgot I needed to get one flint while gathering for the Stagbreaker, and now I need another return trip for one flint.

Are you really not finding any just walking along the coast? If you built on the shore surely it's just washing up onto your base floor! :hintlord:

If you break the barrels outside stone ruins they usually have flint in them.

You don't need much flint so a trip or two picking flint should be enough for your entire playthrough. Avoid flint arrows, just use wood arrows. You want to save the feathers for much better arrows than flint.

Nope I haven't found any on my Black Forest map, I have like 50% of the shore charted out now and no flints.
If there should be flints sure I'll go look again.

Yeah I use flint for only the knife and upgrades and the tannin rack, and I'm missing one for the rack in my new base.

There is no way you can be that far away from a meadows biome. Trip along the coast will quickly give you a stack. You want to explore meadows anyway for honey and stuff.

Pretty much the closest meadows water spot from my second base is the full Eikthyr power run, picked that clean not too long ago, so the next one is way further.
I have a swamp type meadows area on the other side of my island.

They also spawn inland along rivers and creeks. I'm confused, starting out and just around the coast of starter place should have far more than enough to sort you out.

If your somehow on a very small starter continent i guess you should rush the boat and portals to get to more fertile lands.

Thing is I'm on the far left side of my island in deep Black Wood biome, and there just isn't water close to the edge where the Meadows biome starts on the left side, I have to run to the north edge for the nearest flint.

Flint should respawn again in the old areas. I would say that portals are the answer to having to run across the island, but by the time you get the bronze axe, fine wood, surtling cores and greydwarf eyes, you won't have much need for flint anymore. Walking would be faster because even if you have the materials you'd have to put the other end down over there anyway.

Flint only spawns in meadows biome, in and near water

I usually donate about 30 min to collecting flint then I never have to collect it again the entire game.
